Prohibited Employer ActivityCan not initiate, administer, or threaten to take retaliatory action if employee discloses violation of state or federal law, rule, or regulation, mismanagement or abuse of authority, substantial waste of public funds or a danger to public health or safety

Opportunity for Employer to Correct?Commission will conduct conciliation after complaint filed and investigation indicates a violation
RemediesCan file complaint with state employment relation commission within 60 days of retaliation. The commission can award reinstatement, back pay, expungement of adverse material on employee's file, and attorney's fees
PenaltiesIf respondent fails to comply with commission order, minimum $10, maximum $100 for every day of failure
