| Age at Which School Attendance is Required | Between 7 and 16 |
| Exceptions to Attendance Requirements | Approved by state board of education (mental or physical inability to attend, immediate demands of the farm or home, etc.) |
| Home School Provisions | Maintain such minimum curriculum standards as are required of public schools; must be recognized by Office of Non-Public Schools and meet requirements of Article 39 of Chapter 115C (115C-547, et seq. standardized testing, high school competency, health and safety standards notice) |
| Penalties on Parents for Noncompliance | Class 3 misdemeanor |
