What Constitutes AbuseChild whose physical health, psychological growth and development or welfare is harmed or is at substantial risk of harm by the acts or omissions of persons responsible for child; includes sexual abuse, abandonment, emotional maltreatment, neglect
Mandatory Reporting Required ByPhysician, chiropractor, nurse, hospital administrator, medical examiner, dentist, psychologist, other health care providers, school teacher/officials, day care worker, social worker, mental health professional, probation officer, camp owner/administrator/counselor, police officer, and any other concerned persons
Basis of Report of Abuse/neglectReasonable cause to believe that a child has been abused or neglected
To Whom ReportedCommissioner of social and rehabilitation services or designee
Penalty for Failure to Report or False ReportingFined up to $500
