What Constitutes AbuseThreat to child's health or welfare by physical, mental, or emotional injury or impairment, sexual abuse/exploitation, deprivation of essential needs
Mandatory Reporting Required ByMedical/osteopathic physician, EMS, medical examiner, dentist, chiropractor, nurse, teacher, guidance counselor, social worker, homemaker, guardian ad litem, social service worker, psychologist, child care worker, mental health professional, law enforcement official, state and municipal fire inspector, municipal code enforcement officer, clergy, commercial film processor, licensing board chair, summer camp administrator or counselor, human agent employed by the Dept. of Ag., Food, & Rural Resources, any other person may report
Basis of Report of Abuse/neglectKnows or has reasonable cause to suspect a child has been or is likely to be abused or neglected
To Whom ReportedDepartment of Human Services
Penalty for Failure to Report or False ReportingCivil violation with fine of not more than $500
