Who May AdoptAny person over 18 who is a resident of or who has resided in Kentucky for 12 months immediately preceding filing. Husband and wife must petition jointly (except in certain circumstances).
Home Residency Required Prior to Finalization of Adoption?In some adoptions, 90 days prior to filing adoption petition; temporary custody pending decision in some cases.
